Maximilian Hemmerle, one of RenéSim's two founders, represents the fifth generation of his family in the jewellery business, continuing 180 years of family tradition. His grandfather, René Sim Lacaze, was one of the most influential jewellery designers of the 20th century and inspired the name of RenéSim.
René Sim Lacaze spent many years in Paris in leading design positions with companies including the renowned luxury jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels. He designed jewellery creations for major names such as Cartier and Mauboussin and for clients including Marlene Dietrich and the Duchess of Windsor.
The father of Maximilian Hemmerle, the goldsmith, jewellery designer and jeweller Franz Hemmerle, was co-owner of the exclusive jewellery store Hemmerle in Munich's Maximilianstrasse and presided for more than 33 years over the rise of the store as one of Europe's premier addresses for luxury jewellery.
After leaving the family company, Franz Hemmerle spent several years in the management team at Bulgari. Today, the highly respected jewellery designer works with his son Maximilian to design individual pieces and exclusive collections for RenéSim.
As the fifth generation of jewellers in the family, Maximilian Hemmerle is continuing a long and eventful tradition with the Internet store.
The names of Franz and Maximilian Hemmerle are synonymous with individual jewellery to the highest quality. The jewellers are delighted to create personal masterpieces for every customer upon request.
